WEBSITES FOR FUN, PRACTICE AND HOMEWORK HELP.
Fun Brain – A site for fun games and practicing math basics. A good site for those days when you don’t have homework and need something educational yet fun to do. Also has reading games.
EducationTube – Similar to YouTube except that all the videos are educational. If you need someone to show and explain to you how to perform a math task this could be your answer. Many step by step videos on both easy and complex math processes. Also has videos on Science, English, and Social Studies concepts. High speed Internet is a must for this site.
AAA Math - We currently using this one in the classroom to practice multiplication tables. It is full of great many math topic and has both practice and games. The levels are from kindergarten to 8th grade so there is something for just about everyone in the family.
Shodor Math - This one has lots and lots of interactive math games that practice a wide range of skills from adding and subtracting, to Advanced Algebra topics. Many of the games are for one or two people so you can compete against your friends and siblings. Challenge your parents as well. We will use this one in the classroom.
Cool Math 4 Kids - A great site for practicing multiplication tables and playing fun games too! Lemonade stand and Rush Hour are on this site and will get your brain thinking logically. Put your little brothers and sisters on this site to prepare them before they get to middle school.
Helping With Math - This site shows you concepts an average middle school child should know and also provides a place to download practice worksheets on a variety of topics. Great for those times when you just need more practice. Also includes several practice games for multiplication, division, and fractions. Even some addition and subtraction games for the younger members of the family.
Slidermath - Another good site for practicing skills. Multiplication tables, rounding, order of operation etc. Goes up to pre-calculus.
